Classic Day 1
BASS Communications
BassFan.com - After a mediocre practice, the 12 keepers that Chapman worked through to compile his bag left him surprised. There were no big bites, though.

“I'm on solid fish, but that’s what is really separating me from the rest of the guys at the top,” he said, referring to his lack of a solid kicker.

His bag consisted entirely of largemouths.

“From a winning standpoint, I'm glad to know that I'm catching the largemouth and I'm on that type of pattern because that’s what will ultimately win this deal.”

He noted that he fished within sight of Kriet and VanDam. Most of his fish came courtesy of shallow-running and lipless crankbaits, but he added that a flipping stick will be on his deck for the rest of the tournament due to the warming conditions. Complete Story

Brent I really enjoyed being your observer on Day 1 at the classic. I learned a lot about fishing rattlebaits and have put some of it to good use since then. I wish you well in the ongoing season. Thanks for an enjoyable day on the lake at the "big event"!!
