Open the Camper Door

Bobbi’s Blog - Where do I start? We have had a great time at home for the last few months. Mason and Makayla really enjoy being at the big house (as opposed to the small camper.) They both attend Lake Quivira preschool 9 hours a week and have made lots of friends. We had a busy last few months and our time at home is almost over. Are we ready for travel???? Not sure. The kids really miss all the traveling buddies. It is so great to open the camper door and have all of our closest friend’s right there to play with. I know I miss all my friends from the BASS circuit.

Being the wife of a full time BASS pro is very difficult to explain. Our life really does revolve around Brent and his career. My job is to help Brent be successful. Sometimes that means working on tackle or cleaning the boat, other times it is doing paperwork/accounting/taxes/reservations (you know… secretary.) But mainly that means supporting and encouraging him. I try to do everything I can to make his job easier and lift the stress from him so he can focus on fishing.

Now I know this sounds a little 1950s… but it works for us. I do a lot for Brent, but he gives everything he has to me and the kids. Brent always puts us first and we do not want for anything. It takes a special balance to live the kind of gypsy life that we live. Sometimes it is a little harder than others. Sometimes we have to butt heads to re-find our balance. Sometimes we take each other for granted and have to be put in check. But there is no question about our commitments and our love. We love our family life and love traveling the country fishing tournaments. We are so grateful that we get to do this all together. Mason and Makayla are incredibly lucky to have so much time with their dad and see more of this country that most people will ever be lucky enough to visit.

That being said. We are sad to be leaving home for the season, but excited to see all our friends and travel again. We hope to start at the PAA event in Florida next week. We are not sure Brent’s boat will be ready. We have no boat wrap and are struggling with the economic problems. We shall see how it all plays out.

Many people at home is Kansas City have asked me to do some sort of blog to keep them posted on how we are doing while traveling. I am going to attempt it… Alton will probably have to yell at me a couple of time to get with it… Those of you that know me well know that I am a procrastinator like no other!!!
