OK, The Classic was tough. We are grateful that Brent qualified and we had a good time…But it really wears you out. Brent finished in 27th place (not exactly what he hoped for.)
Shreveport was fun. The kids love staying in the big hotels. The Hilton had a heated pool on the roof and a hot tub. Makayla was in heaven and loved the hot tub. She likes the camper, but this year she is really homesick. She misses her friends at Lake Quivira. She asks to go see Grace almost everyday. She talks about Grace’s dogs and really wants to have a play date with her. It’s hard to explain to her why she can’t see her friend. I told her we could mail a card and she insisted we hand deliver a letter. I’m sure she will feel better after more play time with her travelling friends.
Mason, ahhh Mason seemed to find his way to the outdoor expo for hours of shopping and filling his tackle boxes with give-aways. He thinks the outdoor show is a big free lure event scheduled just for him!! He is loving the travelling life. He’s already running with Laker and Cal like bestbuds.
We had lots of friends and family with us at the Classic. Our family is incredible and I am constantly reminded that Brent’s family rocks. I really hit the jackpot with my in-law family. Poor Stacey had to take care of Penny all week. No big deal, except she is very allergic to the dog!
Penny is adjusting to life in campgrounds. She misses running free at 100 MPH.
Soooooo—we are moving on.
We left Shreveport last week and headed to Zapata Texas for some fun. The kids and I are hanging out and Brent is fun fishing. He also had to fly out for some BassPro appearances. Chris, Ron and Pat have all been down to spend time with us and fish. Pat and I are hoping to drive down to Padre later this week. Next week we head to Del Rio Texas for the first BASS Elite series event on Amistad. Game on!
